How to Display and Sell Rugs in Make Rugs
Last updated:
Sell finished rugs to customers through your shop’s showroom. You’ll need a completed rug and an empty display rack.
Quick answer
Carry a finished rug through the workshop doorway into the showroom, approach an empty rack, and click its yellow “+”. When the rug hangs on the rack and leaves your hand and hotbar, it is listed for customers to buy. Find additional display space at the shop’s expansion purchase points.

Carry a Finished Rug into the Showroom
Equip your finished rug and carry it through the workshop doorway into the front showroom. Look for an empty display rack; the wooden racks beside the showroom windows work too.
During the introductory Simple Mat sale, follow the green floor arrows into the showroom.
If your rug is still labeled Unshaven, finish it at the shaving station first. Follow the rug-making guide for the finishing steps.
Click the Yellow Plus on an Empty Rack
- Walk up to an empty showroom rack while holding your finished rug.
- Click the yellow “+” inside the rack.
- Confirm that the rug appears on the rack and disappears from your hand and hotbar.
That completes the listing step. Simple Mat and Inset Heart use the same interaction, including at the window-side wooden racks.
Tell a Listed Rug from a Completed Sale
A hanging rug is listed for sale; the sale happens when a customer buys it. The price beside the rug is its listed value, not cash you have already received.
During the introductory Simple Mat listing, “A customer is coming for your rug!” means a customer is on the way.
If your rug has not sold, check its position:
- Still in your hand: complete the rack interaction to list it.
- Hanging on the rack and gone from your hotbar: the listing is complete. Wait for a customer to purchase it.
For an order delivery, use the separate packing and shipping route.
Find More Rug Display Space
When your display racks are occupied, approach the shop’s expansion purchase markers and look for additional rug display space. Buying more display positions gives you room to list more finished rugs at once.
Use the studio guide to locate other workstation interactions and purchase markers. For ways to increase each rug’s value before listing it, see the money and rug value guide.
